UltraVPN Review 2023

Table of Contents

UltraVPN is a VPN service that lives up to its name. This VPN offers an excellent balance of speed, performance, and security. Since its inception, UltraVPN has made great strides and taken the world by storm. UltraVPN is also widely known for its ability to unblock Netflix in the US. Moreover, the company behind the VPN service is committed to strict privacy protection for user data.

Network Protect Limited is the owner of this VPN service – a company registered in the UK and the US. Although UltraVPN is not an ideal VPN site, it has proven to be anonymous and reliable. This is thanks to its zero logging policy, over 1,000 servers and unlimited bandwidth, as well as features that make it one of the best competitors for VPN.

Unique Features

If connecting to the world is important to youUltra VPN is the right choice for you. They have servers on all seven continents except Antarctica, but who wants to connect there

That means you can access international social media, watch international sporting events, and stream international media freely with this VPN.

Speed Test

I did this speed test before connecting to UltraVPN so you can check how much the speed changes and how it affects the ping.

Server Connection Ping Download Speed Upload Speed

Without VPN

11ms
74 Mbps
48 Mbps

UK Server

13ms
60 Mbps
37 Mbps

US Server

8 Mbps

In the speed test above, I connected to a UK server before running the test. As you can see, there was a slight difference in our speeds, but nothing that affected (even the game!).

This speed test was done with a connection to a US Eastern server. However, I was in the UK at the time of writing this review, and that should be taken into account. Although I didn’t feel any lag in the connection, the speed test shows that there is a noticeable difference from the first connection. But unless you plan to use it for gaming, you won’t notice the difference.

Pricing Plans

1 Month 6 Months 12 Months
$7.99/Month
$5.99/Month
$3.75/Month

Like the vast majority of VPNs, UltraVPN can be purchased with three different subscription plans: monthly, quarterly, and yearly.

Usually, UltraVPN gives bigger discounts for customers with longer subscriptions. This pricing structure is meant to reward customers who commit to the service. Aside from these discounts, all subscription plans are the same and all users have access to all server and VPN features.

At $7.99 per month, this VPN is extremely competitive, and its annual price of $45 – the equivalent of $3.75 – makes UltraVPN one of the most affordable VPNs on the market.

We also like that this VPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which means you can try it out without worrying about risking your money.

Privacy and Logging

The UltraVPN website claims that the service has a zero logging policy and says. We don’t track your online activity, so your browsing habits are completely anonymous. That’s a good start, but it doesn’t rule out all types of logging, and we’d like to investigate further.

We did, however, find scattered information on a support page. It states that it doesn’t monitor Internet searches or websites, but that the service “remembers your device’s IP address and monitors traffic passing through UltraVPN servers.

User Experience

All UltraVPN apps are easy to use, with a central button that automatically connects to the nearest server. Unlike most other VPNs, it doesn’t allow you to create a list of recent accesses or favorites to quickly access servers. There are also no servers designated for streaming, file sharing or gaming – you can simply choose from a menu of geolocations.

There are no additional features or settings other than the native Hydra VPN protocol, the IKEv2 protocol, and the option to auto-select applications. More advanced VPNs can be customized and are more versatile. If you’re someone who sticks to the basics, the additional options won’t matter.

You can use UltraVPN on 6 devices at once, and there are native apps for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS (iPhone and iPad). Even when I maxed out my subscription on all 6 devices (2 PCs, 2 Androids, 1 iPhone, and 1 Macbook) at once, I had the same great video streaming quality and connection speed.

Streaming and Torrenting

If you are not from the US but want to watch US Netflix series, a VPN can help you. If you sign up to a VPN server in the US and then log in to Netflix, you’ll see all the local movies and TV shows. This is also handy for Americans traveling abroad.

Another advantage of a VPN is the ability to download torrents securely. Since your connection is fully encrypted, your ISP can’t see what you’re doing online and can’t penalize you for using P2P services.

Customer Support

UltraVPN’s customer support options are more diverse than many other services, including live chat, phone and email support, and a large knowledge base. However, it took a while for the team to respond.

Live chat is available 24/7, and there is also a dedicated phone number to address billing issues. For technical support, you can submit a ticket via the website and start a conversation via email.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  1. New user-friendly
  2. Good at unblocking streaming services
  3. 24/7 customer support system
  4. Off switch
  5. Military-grade encryption measures
  6. No bandwidth or download limits
Cons
  1. Very few features
  2. Expensive for what it offers
  3. Allows only 3 simultaneous connections
  4. Small server network with only about 100 servers to advertise on

Conclusion

Throughout the testing process, UltraVPN’s rating is inconclusive. It offers military-grade encryption, a kill switch, a 7-day free trial, and a 30-day refund policy. It also unlocks almost all streaming platforms and is compatible with all major operating systems.

However, despite claims of supporting P2P activity and an audit-free policy, a closer look reveals otherwise. UltraVPN is also based in the UK, with a small number of servers and slow speeds. Moreover, only three devices can be connected at a time, and credit card payments are not readily available.
